Volunteer
Want to get involved? We'd love to have you participate in the following ways...or let us hear about your ideas.
Letters to the Editor: Letter writing is a great way to get our City Council members and other decision-makers to take our right to vote seriously. Whether you write to the editor of the San Diego Union Tribune, or some of our local, North County focused news outlets, your voice matters!
Media Outreach: With no advertising budget, we count on media coverage to help tell our story. It takes quite a bit of planning to get us mentioned in the news and to get our position highlighted. We also need volunteers who can help format news articles and can write press releases. If you enjoy following political news and researching, can write creative and concise titles for news clips and can complete projects under short deadlines, this may be the perfect volunteer activity for you!
Outreach to Local Organizations: Carlsbad and North County are home to many civic and interest groups whose interests and advocacy activities fit perfectly with Citizens for a Friendly Airport and Carlsbad citizens' right to vote. We need volunteers to help us not only identify them, but to reach out to them. If you are a member of a local group, you probably have more connections than you realize. We'd be grateful for help in reaching all of our local community.
Citizen Volunteer: Volunteering as a Citizens for a Friendly Airport Social Media Ambassador provides an opportunity for enthusiastic and engaged individuals to represent our efforts. You will serve a significant role in supporting our online community by facilitating conversations, promoting awareness and helping us gather support for the right of Carlsbad citizens to vote on any Palomar Airport expansion plans (Our Facebook page is up and Twitter will be coming...).
Photography/Video Production: Are you a photo or video hobbyist? A pro? We need volunteers to help us with quality photos for our website, social media and print products. And if you can help with creating and posting short videos, we'd be ever so grateful.
